I am an RN with 30 years of active treatment experience. I have worked in geriatrics, emergency, surgery, and internal medicine. In 2016 and 2019 I attended the University of Toronto Cannabinoids in Clinical Practice Symposium. My personal nursing mandate has always been based on patient advocacy and being a voice for the vulnerable.
I have witnessed the effects of an overburdened healthcare system resulting in increased wait times, overflowing emergency departments, and early hospital discharge. Patients often feel lost and confused in what they feel is a chaotic system. Unfortunately, seniors are one of the most vulnerable populations affected today. Patients and families are exhausted, overwhelmed, and confused about the many services necessary for successful health and wellness. My role and the focus of Advocann is to alleviate stress and manage various home and healthcare issues with compassion and competence.
